Hello, my name is Justine Jacques. I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. I came from a small town in Alberta. I have experience working in the helping field in a counselling role for 3 years, and I have been experience working in a helping role for over 12 years. I hold a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University in New Brunswick and an Undergraduate Degree in Psychology from Athabasca University.
While I was fortunate enough to know that I wanted to become a psychologist from a young age, my professional experiences further solidified my interest in being able to help others heal in a deeper capacity. As a person-centered therapist, I will work with you to help you remove barriers that you may face and prevent you from experiencing personal growth and healing. I have worked with teens, adults, and couples with developmental disabilities, depression, anxiety, PTSD, phobias, relationship conflicts, addictions, as well as other struggles. I also have experience in working with veterans and first responders as well as their families. In addition to this I have worked with many individuals who have experienced negative impacts of traumatic events such as car accidents and sexual assault.
I work with teens, adults, and couples by utilizing approaches and techniques such as Emotion-focused Therapy (EFT), Attachment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), and Prolonged Exposure (PE).
