Hello, my name is Justine Jacques. I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. I came from a small town in Alberta. I have experience working in the helping field in a counselling role for 3 years, and I have been experience working in a helping role for over 12 years. I hold a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University in New Brunswick and an Undergraduate Degree in Psychology from Athabasca University.

While I was fortunate enough to know that I wanted to become a psychologist from a young age, my professional experiences further solidified my interest in being able to help others heal in a deeper capacity. As a person-centered therapist, I will work with you to help you remove barriers that you may face and prevent you from experiencing personal growth and healing. I have worked with teens, adults, and couples with developmental disabilities, depression, anxiety, PTSD, phobias, relationship conflicts, addictions, as well as other struggles. I also have experience in working with veterans and first responders as well as their families. In addition to this I have worked with many individuals who have experienced negative impacts of traumatic events such as car accidents and sexual assault.

I work with teens, adults, and couples by utilizing approaches and techniques such as Emotion-focused Therapy (EFT), Attachment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), and Prolonged Exposure (PE).

Hello! My name is Cara Chalmers and I am a born and raised Calgarian. I began working as a Registered Social Worker in Alberta in 2006 with my undergraduate degree in Social Work from the University of Calgary. In 2010 I returned to the University of Calgary and completed my Master of Social Work with a Clinical Specialization in 2012. My training and education during these early years of my career focused on working with, adolescents, families and young infants. These experiences formed the foundations of my current practice as a clinician who approaches individuals and families from a developmental and systemic framework.

I believe that everyone wants to live a full and healthy life with meaningful relationships and love for the self and for others. I offer support for both individuals and their families to enhance relationships and carve out a path for the kind of lives that we envision for ourselves. Counselling is about change, and although change isn’t always easy, I believe that it is possible for anyone.

Using modalities that are Post-Modern in nature such as Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Developmental and Attachment Theory and Sensory-Motor Psychotherapy, I work to support clients in identifying and moving towards the change that they desire. Even when you are not sure where to begin, speaking with a counsellor can provide a space to have a purposeful and worthwhile conversation of possibility.
